Wow, I can’t believe it’s the last month of 2009. This has been an amazing year of growth for me. I’ve met so many wonderful people through blogging. This wonderful community continues to grow and I continue to learn. I have a goal that every day should include fun and I learn something new. Some days the two are the same and others, well you know.
As we make our way through this last month I hope you will take time to reflect on this year and make plans for the coming year. I’m not talking about a few New Year’s Resolutions. I’m talking about really taking some quiet time to think about how you would like to see your year play out. You can write down your ideas, cut out pictures and paste them onto a Treasure Map, or even just make a little list. Everyone has their own way of planning but I can tell you something that I’m certain of. If you don’t take the time to evaluate what you’ve done and plan out how you would like things to go, you will spin your wheels repeating the same mistakes and not even realizing what made something really work. Make a bold statement this coming year and then write it down.
More on ideas how to do this later in the month. Also coming later this month some new and exciting additions that I’ve been working on. Sorry, you’ll have to wait for the details on these until later this month too.
This is my last monthly menu plan for 2009. I’ve made one each month and looking back I can say it has made a huge difference. I’ve done a much better job of getting dinner on the table. I’ve saved us tons of money. Enough to take a really nice vacation for our family of four. It also gave me a great way to make sure our family had balanced meals throughout the week and stuck to the rotation diet.
I will definitely keep up this new habit. My goal for 2010 with my menu is to continue to save money, mix up the meals, eat from the freezer and notice if I keep making the same thing too often.
December will also be a month of celebrations. My birthday and the release of the Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince DVD 8th, Hanukkah 12-19th , Christmas 25th, Kwanzaa 26-Jan 1, and New Year’s Eve 31st. Of course we’ll throw in a few more things to celebrate like date night, end of the semester, winter break and our office being closed for vacation. What will you be celebrating this month?
